My favourite picture

Hi! This time I'll write about my favourite pic. But I'm having problems deciding the picture I'll choose. I went to my facebook account to see all the pictures I have there. There are pictures with my family, my boyfriend, lots of friends, but I realized that in the most of my pictures I'm with one of my best friends. Her name: Jasna. And maybe that's why I choose this picture.

In this picture I'm with three of my school friends, but one of them didn't fit in the pic. From left to right there are: Daniela, me, Jasna and Ivana.
I don't really remember who took that picture, but probably some school friend took it. I think that the person who took the picture wanted to left Daniela out of the frame intentionally. Maybe to play her a joke.

In that time we were in a park, having a nice time with all my classmates. It was taken last year. I remember, it was the last day of school, and we organized a barbecue with all the seniors.

I like this pictures because when I loked a it, all those days of school come back to my mind, and I remember all the good times I lived with my friends. It also remembers me that I haven't seen Jasna in a long time, so maybe is time to stay in touch again.

How important is education?

This time I have to write about education and how important is prevention in education.
Last time in class we talked about the different levels of education. We started our education un primary school, then secundary school and then university, wich is where we are now. In university you choose a career, and you go to the classes that will teach you about your profession. The most important thing for me is that you need to learn all the aspects you have to handle to turn into a great professional. And also all the values you need.

But that type of education doesn't stops once you finish your career. For me it's important to be up dated. I think you degree may help you to start a life and make your own money in the beginning, but you can't just stay there.
I have always thought that I would make a master and eventually a phD. The thing is that I don't really know in wich area. Maybe I have to figure out if I'm going to finish this career first and then think clearly in the future.

Other topic I have to discuss this session is the importance of prevention in education. I think the type of prevention that is needed depends on the career. In my case (obstetrics) the prevention is a type of education. Often midewifes are the proffesionals that give the tools to their patients to be aware of all the things that are important for they to know. Like the prevention for AIDS, unwanted pregnancy, family planification, control methods of birth, etc. That's why I think education is soo important.

If you receive a good education, it is important that you take advantage of it and turn into the best person and proffesional you can become. And then, with all the knowledge you have acquire, you can teach and educate some other people.

Stereotypes in my University

In this session I have to write about the stereotypes I can find in my faculty.
The word stereotype means to me to classify people based in their looks, like the way that people act or the image they want to show to others. For example, when you are walking in down town you can see a lot of different types of people. You can see students, people who are dressed like office workers, etc. And even when you are not trying to judge, your mind automatically thinks in one sort of people.

Thinking in a stereotype doesn´t really work for me, because I think you can't figure out a person just based in their look. But I have found myself doing that a lot of times, even when I know it isn't right.

Personally, I have talked about stereotypes in my university with my circle of friends, and we have got to the conclusion that our university has a lot of different types of people, but in general I consider that they are all pretty "normal".

However, you can find some people in my faculty that fit in a stereotype just looking how they dress or act. You can find:
- "metaleros" who are people that listen to metal music.
- gay people.
- hippies (people that listen mostly reggae music.)
- flaites (unfortunated people).

But I repeat, there are just a small group of people that you don't usually see every day.

However, it's clear that every career has a special type of people with different personalities. But when you see them as a whole faculty, it's very homogeneous. For example, people who study Obstetrics like me, have the image of being very sweet, tender or sensitive.

People who study medicine are classified as a nerd person. I have found that a lot of them don't have a lot of personality and they get along better with books than with other people. But I have seen a lot of exceptions.

And maybe I could continue giving you some characteristics of every career, but that's just my perception.

I think I don't belong to any specific type of people, so I consider myself a "normal" person.
