This time I'm going to write about the earthquake, my experience, how did I feel, what did I do and how do I feel now after this huge event.
The night of the earthquake I was in my home. Hours before, I saw a movie with my boyfriend and ate tacos with my family. My little sister (she's 16 years old) and a friend of her (Isabella) went to a party that night, but fortunately, me and my dad went to pick them up earlier. We were supposed to be there at three in the morning, but we got there at 2:30. Otherwise, maybe the earthquake would had surprised us in the middle of the road.
When me, my dad, my sister and her friend, got home, I went straight to bed and felt asleep. That was about 3:15 in the morning.
Maybe ten or fifteen minutes later the earthquake started. Suddenly I woke up, I felt really strange. I was disoriented and sleepy. While I opened my eyes I heard a horrible noise. It took quite long time before I realized that the noise was my house creaking. I freaked up. I looked to my brother's room, and I saw my mom moving back and forward trying to wake him up. I stood up from my bed and ran towards my mam, and stayed there until the earthquake stopped.
My dad couldn't got upstairs, because of the movement of the floor. So once everything stopped moving, he went up with us. Luckily, we were all safe.
That night I slept with my parents, and didn't realized the enormous earthquake it have been until the other day, when I saw the news.
After the earthquake, my cousins came to Santiago and stayed with us about a month, because the city where they lived (Constitución) was devastated.
Me, my boyfriend and my cousin went for several weeks to the municipality of Peñalolén (where I live), to help packing things like clothing, food, covers and diapers. It was hard work because first we had to received the donations in the morning. Then classified it, packed it, and every night loaded it in a big truck. That truck left the help we sended in places like Pelluhue.
After that experience I've learned to be more attentive to other people. I started to think about other first, and not being so self-centered.

Me and My future profession
The assignment for today is to write about our career, tell what do we expect about it and why we decided toy study this specific career.
In my case, I never really thought about studying Obstetrics and then work as a midwife. My first choice was to study Auditory Therapy. But now that I'm already here, I have realized than my real vocation is to help others, and that can be done in many ways.
I think that is the most important point in this profession, because a midwife has to be available all the time to help the pregnant woman. But the mission doesn't stops there, a midwife also has to take care of the social environment of the patient, support the family in case they have doubts about the birth process and all the events that happens before a baby comes.
My expectations about this professions are not very clear, because I don´t even know if I will finish studying this. Maybe in the end of this year I'll decided to change career.
In the case I finished studying obstetrics, I would like to work for some years in a hospital or a clinic, and then sign in a management course so I could combine both professions and establish something big like my own private hospital with specialty in obstetrics.
